HESTA CEO Anne-Marie Corboy has been awarded Fund Executive of the Year by the Fund Executive Association Limited (FEAL).

This prestigious award is designed to recognise outstanding leadership, achievement and innovation by a fund executive.

This year’s award applauded Ms. Corboy’s ongoing contribution to the Australian superannuation industry, and her enthusiastic dedication to ensuring that women, who comprise 84% of HESTA’s membership, receive the maximum benefits of their superannuation.

"Ms Corboy has recognised the specific needs of HESTA’s members, many of whom work part-time or have lower balances as a result of having taken time out of the work force," said AMP Capital Investors business director Brian Delaney.

Mr Delaney drew attention to Ms. Corboy’s continued lobbying to further increase women’s retirement incomes, and her work to introduce education programs to promote the benefits of co-contributions as especially impressive achievements.

In highlighting the capabilities of outstanding fund executives, the award considers the executives’ performance on a number of criteria, including innovation, leadership, responses to challenges, strategic planning and contribution to the market place.

Ms Corboy, who this year celebrates ten years as CEO of HESTA Super Fund, said "I was very honoured and flattered to be considered for this award. It is, however, a tribute to the fantastic work of the HESTA team and great strategic leadership from the HESTA Board."

The award recipient receives a $20,000 educational grant, consistent with FEAL’s goal of enhancing the professional development of its members.
