Who runs HESTA?

Anne-Marie Corboy - HESTA's Chief Executive Officer

Anne-Marie Corboy, HESTA CEO

Anne-Marie Corboy was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of HESTA and Company Secretary to H.E.S.T. Australia Limited in May 1998.

In addition to these roles at HESTA Anne-Marie is also a Trustee with the MCG Trust, a Director of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and an alternate Director for both ISPT and IGIPT.

Anne-Marie is a member of the Ministerial Advisor Panel on Financial Advice and Professional Standards.

Anne-Marie holds a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma in Education, Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Financial Services, AIST Certificate of Super Practice and is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Anne-Marie has also been a Director of Industry Fund Services Pty Ltd, Super Member Investments Ltd, Women in Super and the Victorian Superannuation Board, a Trustee for both the State Superannuation Board and the State Casual Employees Superannuation Fund in Victoria, Chair of the Northern Health Board and Kangan Institute Council, an Advisory Board Member of the Foundation for Sustainable Economic Management and a Board Member for the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST).

Before joining HESTA Anne-Marie worked with the education unions in Victoria and her first career was as a primary teacher.

Debby Blakey - Deputy CEO

Debby was appointed to the role of Deputy CEO in January 2012, prior to which she was Executive Manager – Member Advice from September 2008. Debby brings more than 20 years experience in superannuation and financial planning to HESTA. She started her career working on defined benefit mergers and valuations for a consulting actuarial practice in South Africa, before setting up her own business as an employee benefit consultant with a particular focus on superannuation. Debby has previous experience in business development and operational management in industry funds, in addition to time spent as the senior manager responsible for corporate super for a 2nd tier Accounting firm.

Debby holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Natal, South Africa, is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, and a Fellow of The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees.

Kate Andrews - Executive Manager - Marketing Strategy

Kate joined HESTA in August 2007 bringing more than 15 years experience in marketing, from advertising agencies in Australia and the USA including DDB (Chicago & Sydney), Wieden + Kennedy (Portland), George Patterson Partners (Melbourne) and Grey Worldwide (Melbourne).

Prior to HESTA, Kate led teams on brands across many categories including  Microsoft, US West, 3 Mobile, GE Money, AXA and National Australia Bank. Since 2007 she has led HESTA’s marketing team, responsible for strategy and communications for members, employers and other stakeholders.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma of Marketing from Monash University.

Ann Drohan - Executive Manager - People and Systems

Ann Drohan

Ann joined HESTA in August 2000 as the Business Development Manager - Southern Region before taking up the role of Executive Manager - Member Education and Advice in 2006. Ann worked as part of the Member Education and Advice Unit to introduce and deliver HESTA’s cutting edge financial education and advice service to HESTA’s many employers and members in all States and Territories.

In August 2008 Ann was appointed to the role of Executive Manager – People and Systems.

Ann has been involved in superannuation for 20 years and has a Graduate Diploma in Business (Industrial Relations) and a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).

In addition to her role with HESTA, Ann is a Board Member of the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees. (AIST)

Robert Fowler - Executive Manager - Investments and Governance

Rob joined HESTA in January 2004. He is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of HESTA's investments program and for the implementation of HESTA’s corporate governance policy.

Rob is a Chartered Financial Analyst with over 16 years experience in financial markets and strong research, analytical and process skills across many asset classes.

Lynn Hart - Executive Manager - Client Relations

Lynn joined HESTA in November 1993 as a Co-ordinator and went on to be National Account Manager before taking up her current role. She manages the Business Services Unit at HESTA, which incorporates all field staff engaged in the education of members and client servicing for our employers, employer associations and unions.

Lynn has an Advanced Diploma of Financial Advising (Financial Planning) and is a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA). She has over 14 years experience working in the finance industry.


Neil Saxton - Executive Manager - Member Education

Neil joined HESTA’s Board in December 2002, representing the LHMU. In November 2006 he was appointed as a member education manager delivering HESTA’s much valued education and advice service to employers and members in Western Australia. In September 2008 Neil was appointed to the role of Executive Manager – Member Education.

Neil holds an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Superannuation) and a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).

By using investment managers, we can make use of their expertise in the investment of your retirement savings while at the same time using our size to achieve economies of scale that keep investment costs low.

HESTA's Board delegates some of the specialist work in administration and financial management to reputable organisations with good knowledge in their field.
