Transfer into HESTA

Do you have money in another super fund as well as your HESTA account? Having more than one super fund could cost you thousands of dollars over time in duplicate fees and costs. The Australian Consumers’ Association (ACA) has found consumers are paying at least $525 million in unnecessary fees each year by having more than one super account. By transferring your other super into your HESTA account, you’ll only pay one set of fees and you won’t lose track of your other accounts.

HESTA won’t charge you a cent to move

The good news is that transferring your other super into your HESTA account is easy and we won’t charge you a cent! All you have to do is:

  • Fill in the Rolling into HESTA Form
  • HESTA will submit it to your existing/old fund
  • In some cases, your existing fund may send you some of their own paperwork to complete the transfer
  • We’ll tell you when the transfer is completed.

Before you transfer you should review any income protection and death insurance you may have, as insurance held through your old super fund may cease. Remember, you may have insurance through HESTA (most members are eligible for cover when they join).

On your transfer, HESTA does not charge you any fees. However, check the fees of the super fund you are leaving because some super funds charge exit fees.

Free help to transfer into HESTA

If you have a number of super accounts you may be needlessly losing money by paying fees on some or all of them. However, as a HESTA member you can access free advice to help you determine the long-term cost of having multiple accounts. This is provided by our Superannuation Services Advisers.

If it’s in your interest to transfer your super, all you have to do is complete a simple form. We'll contact your old fund, arrange the transfer, and then let you know when it's complete.
