Terms and conditions for nominating someone for the 2017 HESTA Community Sector Awards.

Unsung Hero

  1. Finalists in the Unsung Hero category will be invited to attend the HESTA Community Sector Awards dinner on Thursday, 19 October 2017 in Melbourne, where the Unsung Hero winner will receive a $10,000 ME EveryDay Transaction account. courtesy of ME- the bank for you.
  2. All prizes will be awarded on the condition that the finalists and winner agree to accept their prize in person by attending the HESTA Community Sector Awards dinner to be held on the date listed in point 1 above. Finalist attendance at the awards dinner is not transferable.
  3. The prize for finalists includes: 2 x tickets to attend the HESTA Community Sector Awards dinner to be held on the date listed in point 1 above, 1 x economy class return airfare to the capital city where the awards dinner is held from the finalists' nearest capital city, 1 night's accommodation in a standard twin share at a hotel nominated by HESTA Community Sector Awards organising committee, close to the dinner venue and 1 x registration to attend the ACOSS National Conference during October 2017. All transfers to and from airports will be at the finalists' expense unless otherwise stated in correspondence. A credit card will be required to cover any incidental expenses in the hotel.
  4. Each finalist in the Unsung Hero category will be presented with an award in recognition of their achievement. The winner will be chosen from the finalists and announced at the HESTA Community Sector Awards dinner to be held on the date and time listed in point 1 above. The overall winner will be presented with an award in recognition of their achievement, together with a $10,000 ME EveryDay Transaction account courtesy of ME- the bank for you.
  5. The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
  6. Only those nominees that make it through to finalist status will be notified by phone and email after the nomination close-off date by a representative of the HESTA Community Sector Awards. Finalist’s details such as name, employer/workplace, and other details in relation to the nomination, will be released to the media prior to the awards dinner.
  7. HESTA, the HESTA Community Sector Awards, ME, or ACOSS, reserve the right to use any entries, photographs, video, media and/or articles of the finalists and winners of this award for future promotional purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the finalists/winner.
  8. Nominators and finalists must agree to be contacted by a representative of the HESTA Community Sector Awards to verify any information submitted and the eligibility of the nominee.
  9. Nominators must notify the nominees employer before making a nomination and complete the declaration prior to submitting nomination. Any nomination that does not indicate consent will be disregarded.
  10. The Judging Panel’s decision is final and made at its sole and complete discretion. No correspondence will be entered into. The Judging Panel and organisers of the HESTA Community Sector Awards retain full discretion in the awarding of prizes.
  11. For every submitted nomination a nominee will receive one certificate in recognition to their contribution to the sector. Certificates will be provided to nominators for presentation to their nominee after the awards take place on the date indicated in point 1 above.
Outstanding Organisation
  1. Finalists in the Outstanding Organisation category will be invited to attend the HESTA Community Sector Awards dinner on Thursday, 19 October in Melbourne where the overall winner (an individual representative of the organisation or team) will receive a $10,000 ME EveryDay Transaction Account, courtesy of ME. In the event the finalist is a team; the identified team leader will accept the prize on behalf of the team.
  2. All prizes will be awarded on the condition each finalist (an individual representative of the organisation or team) agrees to accept their prize in person by attending the HESTA Community Sector Awards dinner to be held on the date listed in point 1 above. Finalist (an individual representative of the organisation or team) attendance at the awards dinner is not transferable.
  3.
