Shaila trusts HESTA to help her financial future, as her patients trust her with their healthcare

 

Shaila is a Registered Nurse who has been a HESTA member since starting in the aged care sector in 2010. “With my work, I get to learn something new every day,” says Shaila. “This means I am able to bring evolving knowledge to my role which helps me understand my residents better and provide accurate interventions.

“What drives me day to day is when I see the relief, smile and words of gratitude expressed from my residents after my interventions have helped them.”

“The best part of what I do is that I get to spend one-on-one time conversing with residents and getting a real understanding of their past care needs, and what they need in the future,” says Shaila.

“This profession gives me the opportunity to work with such a variety of residents and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds which broadens my knowledge and helps me understand different traditions and attitudes.”

Despite changing jobs within the healthcare sector a few times, Shaila has made sure to maintain her HESTA account and roll in any super from other accounts. “I stay on top of my super thanks to the reminder emails I get from HESTA. For Shaila, super means saving for her future. “I trust that HESTA has my best interests in hand so that I’ll have enough money when I need it at retirement.” For Shaila, retirement will mean doing more of her favourite things. “Gardening, shopping, travel with my family, listening to music and watching good movies. They are the best ways to relax,” says Shaila.
