Advancing Pedagogy & Practice

Recognising early childhood professionals who have demonstrated practice improvement and advancement.

Who is eligible?

Nominees must be an individual or team with team members holding an early education qualification (Diploma or Degree) and currently working in an approved or registered education program for young children. The educational setting must be at least meeting the National Quality Standards. 

This could be in one or more settings, such as preschool, long day care, family day care, primary school, outside school hours care, mobile service etc, and must be in an approved or registered education program for young children (birth to eight years of age). 

Nominees may self-nominate, however all nominations must be supported by a supervisor/manager/CEO/owner/employer.

Nominations must demonstrate all of the following:

  • An explanation of the individual or team’s qualifications and the type of service being delivered
  • An explanation of what drove the need for innovation or change in order to advance pedagogy and practice
  • An explanation of the new approach, how it is innovative or emerging, what research has been conducted/referenced, how it has been delivered, including any barriers faced
  • Evidence of a positive impact or benefits that the new approach is delivering for children, their families and/or the community
  • A description of how the prize money will enhance or assist in the professional development of the staff, or how it will further develop services in the workplace..
