Natalie Pirret from Woombye CARE in Woombye, QLD is a finalist in the 2019 HESTA Aged Care Awards

 

Recognised for making a difference to the lives of aged care residents through empathy and compassion and for developing improved services that foster resident wellbeing.

 

Over the past 13 years, Natalie has progressed from a high school student working on weekends as a kitchen hand to become the Senior Registered Nurse at Woombye CARE. Natalie shows compassion and empathy to all residents.

 

Natalie’s passion for making a difference to resident’s lives means she is informed about residents and is often the first port-of-call for staff, allied health professionals, doctors and specialists when they require further information about a resident. She has played a significant role in developing new activities that are age-appropriate for residents and was instrumental in developing an End of Life Care Pathway for use with palliative care patients.

 

Natalie is committed to continuing to develop her skills and knowledge, recently completing a Certificate IV in Mental Health, a Diploma of Leadership and Management and a Graduate Certificate in Bereavement Counselling and Intervention.
