Our investment performance FY23-24
Our CEO and CIO, Debby Blakey and Sonya Sawtell-Rickson, share our 2023-24 financial year performance and a market recap.
Linda Panaszek is a Superannuation Specialist in South Australia.
It’s changing people’s mindset about their retirement that first attracted Linda to member education. “A common thread when I meet with members is that they’re fearful they won’t be able to afford to retire when they want to - but I know I can help them,” says Linda.
After studying commerce and financial markets, Linda spent years growing her financial acumen working for a fund manager. But it was her enjoyment of helping people that made it a natural transition for her to move into financial advice.
For well over a decade, Linda’s been working with people to help them grow their wealth and learn more about their own finances. After working as a financial adviser, tax accountant and private banker, member education is absolutely the place Linda feels she’s best placed to support members.

“The best thing about working as part of the Member Education Team at HESTA is that I can actually make a difference in the lives of people I meet. Sometimes this can be significant, and it’s a great feeling to know you’ve helped someone out financially.”
It’s okay to feel overwhelmed
“Super can be complex and is not a ‘one size fits all’ even though we’re all required to have it,” says Linda. She prides herself on being able to help you to take advantage of the various tax structures in super so that no matter your age and/or income level, you can use super to benefit your own personal circumstances.
“What works for one person might not work for the next and people are always talking about what their friends are doing, but that doesn’t mean it will work for them.”
Education can change everything
After many years working in the financial services industry, Linda can take even the most complex element of super and explain it in language we can all connect with. She believes that educating members is key. “Education is about helping members to feel more confident about their finances as well as helping them to get the most out of their super,” says Linda.
As someone who genuinely loves retirement planning, the most fulfilling part about Linda’s job is being able to work with members to establish a budget. This helps them actually see what their retirement income will look. “So many times this provides our members with the peace of mind they need to feel confident that they can retire when they want to and most importantly, they’re not going to run out of money.”
