HESTA welcomes investment and governance specialist Sue Dahn to its Board

HESTA is delighted to announce the appointment of investment and governance specialist Sue Dahn to its Board as Director and Investment Committee Chair from 1 July 2023.

Ms Dahn, a partner at Pitcher Partners, has more than 30 years of experience providing financial and investment advice and has achieved a highly respected industry-wide reputation.

In 2019, she was named The Australian and Barron’s top Financial Adviser in Australia – the first woman to achieve such an accolade and in 2021 was named AIST Super Trustee of the Year.

Ms Dahn also has extensive Board and Investment Committee experience, including three current roles as Investment Committee Chair.

Of note, she is currently Chair of the Investment Committee for Breakthrough Victoria, Spirit Super and Australian Communities Foundation.

She was also Chair of Investment Committee at MTAA Super Fund, AGEST Super and ESS Super.

HESTA Chair Nicola Roxon welcomed Ms Dahn to the HESTA Board and leadership of the Investment Committee, saying it will support the continued delivery of strong, long-term investment performance for members underpinned by global leadership in responsible investment.

"Sue brings a wealth of experience to the Board as an investment advisor, and her previous Board experience will continue to enhance our ability to make a real difference in the lives of our members,” Ms Roxon said.

"HESTA has a record of delivering outstanding investment performance for members and Sue's appointment will support the delivery of investment excellence with impact for members, while overseeing the management of a growing and significant pool of assets.”

Ms Dahn said she was excited to join HESTA and contribute to improving the financial future of HESTA’s members who predominately work in health and community services.

"I am delighted to be joining HESTA and help the Fund to continue to deliver great retirement outcomes for our one-million-plus members," she said.

"Investment committees and good governance have long been two key passions of mine.

“I am looking forward to joining the HESTA Board later this year and sharing my experience and expertise in investment across all asset classes, both listed and non-listed and in contributing to HESTA’s great reputation for responsible investing.

At Pitcher Partners, Ms Dahn founded the Investment Advisory practice, which has grown to a team of 65, managing and advising on over $6.5B in funds.

Before joining Pitcher Partners, Ms Dahn worked as an accountant gaining experience with KPMG in audit and Arthur Anderson in tax.

She later held senior financial positions in the Victorian Government Departments of Premier and Cabinet and Treasury and Finance.
