boosting your resilience

balance

Work burnout and fatigue from COVID-19 have significantly impacted the resilience of workers across the health and community services sector.

More broadly, 1 in 5 Australians lives with a mental health condition in any given year, and half of the Australian population will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime. HESTA members have access to insurance cover through AIA Australia Ltd and they've prepared some practical tools to help you stay healthy in the months and years ahead.

Simonie Fox, Head of Shared Value Partnerships at AIA Australia says their team began thinking about solutions after seeing firsthand the devastating impact that mental ill-health has on members, their families and the broader community. The result is a unique collaboration with Olympic Gold Medallist and human performance coach Alisa Camplin who has lived experience of overcoming challenges.

Alisa Camplin

“We’ve created a toolkit with Alisa Camplin to help everyone focus on the fundamentals of resilience,” says Simonie. “At each step along the way, you’ll learn core skills and tools to better equip you in navigating your evolving workplace and ultimately helping you to lead a healthier, longer, better life.”

The toolkit could help support your needs now and into the future. “Our members are the first to care for those who find themselves in major health crises – but we have to ensure that our members are looking after themselves too,” HESTA CEO Debby Blakey says. “There’s no doubt the past few years have been extremely challenging, for those who work in the sector and for those needing care and support. That’s why we’re proud to partner with AIA in helping our members boost their resilience.”
